Charlie Bravo is an artist working from a small studio on the south Devon coast, across creative mediums, oil, clay, print, and photography. The work moves between forms but keeps returning to the same question; what it means to hold weight.
The weight of paint pushed hard. The weight of catching a moment that isn’t usually seen. Of slowing down enough to notice. Of taking a breath, and quieting down. Of Listening. Of Living.
The studio runs on three things: creativity, chaos, and coffee. Paintings are built in layers, meticulously arguing with each other. Ceramic masks are slipcast forms, hand picked and hand-finished. Glazed one at a time; each firing its own happy little accident. Photography and Prints made with the community of drivers Charlie has been building since 2023.
Torquay forced a change to the pace of life; Quiet, focussed, work that is more deliberate, more intentional. Family. Friends. First. The people closest to you; spending the time you have on what actually matters.
If you’d like to commission a piece, see something in person, or just talk about the work, the coffee machine is always warm and ready.
